On the 2nd of May, around 18:00 in Paris, an attempted theft was stopped in its tracks — by a single piece of gear: the LITELOK X1.
Raphael had parked a scooter, valued at approximately 800 euros, in a public park and secured it using only the LITELOK X1.
"My ride was locked to the public park, and it was only locked with the X1"
Shared Raphael. There were no additional chains or locks.
It wasn’t the first time Raphael had dealt with scooter theft. Unfortunately, a previous attempt had resulted in a total loss.
“The first time, I had different brand of handcuff style lock, which according to its manufacturer, offered a high level of security – but it shattered. So, in the end, I lost a scooter, a broken lock, and a lot of money.”
That experience had left a lasting impression, and when investing in a replacement scooter, Raphael opted for a more robust security solution. That decision paid off.
“But thanks to the LITELOK X1, I was able to save my second scooter this time,” Raphael explained. “I had to make a 10-minute stop in a busy area, and when I came back, I saw that someone had tried to cut through the X1 with a disc saw. They must have gotten fed up and gave up halfway…I’m a bit shaken, but so happy the lock held strong. I’m going to recommend your lock to my friends and family.”

The attempted theft highlights the growing need for dependable urban mobility security. As high-value scooters and e-bikes become more common in cities, so too do the tools and tactics of thieves. The use of power tools, especially portable disc saws, is increasingly frequent in theft attempts — and not all locks can withstand them.
The LITELOK X1 is designed with this exact threat in mind, offering resistance to angle grinders and other heavy-duty cutting tools. It’s built for real-world security in real-time situations — exactly like the one Raphael faced.
In a bustling city like Paris, where theft can happen in broad daylight, even a brief stop can turn costly. But in this case, a solid investment in the right lock made all the difference.
