LITELOK X1 protected Margo's Cube EXE 500 hybrid bike from an angle grinder theft attempt in Sheffield. The bike, valued at £2,500, has been Margo's for four years.
"I wanted to say thanks because a couple of guys with an angle grinder tried to pinch my ebike the other day and after 5 seconds their angle grinder couldn’t get through the lock and they gave up. Saw them on the CCTV at work."
It happened in Sheffield at my workplace. It was on 9/8/24 at 7:20pm ish. My bike is worth £2500. The main top bar was locked to a Sheffield type bike stand and with an additional kryptoflex cable through the front wheel.
My bike also has a tracker inside (and I’ve retrieved it from being stolen before - that’s when I decided to buy a Litelok). The CCTV at work shows a man getting off the back of a moped, getting out his portable angle grinder, spending about 5 seconds on it and then giving up. Difficult to say on the footage why he gave up but I think it may have broken his blade."
