Unfortunately, all locks can be cut with the right tools and enough time. The exact time it takes depends on several factors, including the power of the angle grinder, the type of cutting discs used and the skill of the user.

During our own testing and independent testing, we found that both the LITELOK X1 and LITELOK X1 MINI are at least 5 times more resistant to angle grinder attacks than current leading D‑locks, requiring multiple cutting discs to make a successful cut. This significantly increases the time, effort, and noise involved — making the bike a far less attractive target for thieves.

Both the LITELOK X1 and LITELOK X1 MINI are built using the same patented Barronium® angle-grinder‑resistant armor, delivering the same level of core security. The difference lies in their size, weight, and intended use.

• LITELOK X1 is a full‑sized D‑lock that offers a strong balance of security, reach, and everyday practicality. It is well suited for securing bike frames to fixed objects such as stands, railings, and anchors in urban environments.
  
• LITELOK X1 MINI is shorter and lighter, prioritising portability and compact locking. It’s ideal for securing wheels, smaller frames, tight locking spaces, or for use as a secondary lock when flexibility and ease of carrying are important.
  

Used together, the X1 provides versatile primary locking, while the X1 MINI adds fast, compact secondary protection — giving you more options when locking in different real‑world situations.

This bundle is designed to give you maximum locking flexibility by combining two locks with the same security technology in different form factors.

Use the LITELOK X1 as your primary lock when securing the bike frame to fixed objects such as stands, railings, or anchors. Its full‑sized design provides a strong balance of reach, security and everyday usability.

The LITELOK X1 MINI complements this by offering compact, lighter secondary security, ideal for securing wheels, smaller frames, or additional locking points when space is limited.

Used together, the two locks allow you to double-lock your bike or adapt easily to different parking situations, giving you more options when locking in busy urban environments.

• LITELOK X1 has an internal locking space of approximately 101 × 197 mm / 3.97 × 7.7", providing a versatile balance of reach and practicality for securing frames, wheels and everyday fixed locking points.
  
• LITELOK X1 MINI has a more compact internal locking space of approximately 99.5 × 137 mm / 3.91 × 5.4", making it well suited to wheel locking, smaller frames, tight stands, or situations where portability and compact size are a priority.
  

The difference in internal size reflects their intended roles: the X1 is designed as a flexible primary lock for everyday urban use, while the X1 MINI offers compact secondary protection where space is limited or an additional locking point is needed.

Yes. Both the LITELOK X1 and X1 MINI can be attached to your bike, using Tactical Mounts designed specifically for each lock’s size and profile.

• LITELOK X1 is compatible with the X1 Tactical Mount (sold separately), allowing the lock to be securely mounted to the bike frame for everyday riding. The mount is designed to keep the lock stable and secure, even on rough roads.
  
• LITELOK X1 MINI is compatible with the X1 MINI Tactical Mount (sold separately), which is sized specifically for the MINI’s more compact form. Due to its smaller size, many riders also choose to carry the X1 MINI in a bag or in the supplied pouch.
  

Please note that Tactical Mounts are model‑specific — the X1 Tactical Mount and X1 MINI Tactical Mount are not interchangeable. All mounts and carrying accessories are sold separately unless otherwise stated.

Yes. Both locks are Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond and Powered Cycle Diamond certified, making this bundle suitable for bikes, e-bikes and motorcycles in urban and higher‑risk locking environments where maximum deterrence is essential.

Yes. Both the LITELOK X1 and LITELOK X1 MINI have been independently tested by recognised testing bodies including Sold Secure and ART.

Both locks achieve Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond and Powered Cycle Diamond certification, as well as ART4, representing the highest levels of independent security testing currently available.

Sold Secure is owned and administered by the Master Locksmiths Association and testing is carried out in purpose-built laboratories in the UK.

Our founder and CEO, Professor Neil Barron, supported by Innovate UK, worked closely with some of the world’s leading material scientists for over 5 years to develop Barronium®, our ground breaking angle grinder resistant technology.

LITELOK X1 range is built with Barronium®, a patented anti-angle grinder material that is applied as a permanently fused composite armor, providing maximum cut resistance and protection from angle grinder attacks. The Barronium® layer repels angle grinder discs.

The X range comprises of three layers of protection:  

1. A fine-grain, hardened high‑tensile steel core providing strength against twisting, leverage, and multiple tool attacks
2. Patented Barronium® armor, permanently fused to the steel core, designed to repel angle-grinder cutting discs
3. A plant-based eco-rubber outer layer, soft to the touch to help protect your bike frame from damage

This construction gives both locks the same high level of resistance, with differences focused on size and reach rather than materials.

There is no physical or technical difference between the Bike and Moto versions of LITELOK X‑range locks — including the X1 and X1 MINI. They are exactly the same locks, using the same materials, construction, and security technologies.

The Bike and Moto naming is used solely to help riders understand how a lock can be applied across different use cases, such as bicycles, e-bikes and motorcycles. The lock itself remains unchanged, only the intended application.

Both the LITELOK X1 and LITELOK X1 MINI are covered by a 3‑year warranty, providing peace of mind against mechanical or operational faults arising from normal use.

The warranty does not cover cosmetic wear and tear. We recommend registering your lock and keys so that, in the event keys are lost, replacements can be ordered easily.
