James recently reached out to us to share his experience with an attempted theft of his £9,500 Yamaha R7 2026 in Romford, London on the 6th of October.
Although we have some CCTV footage from James's neighbours, his camera was not working, as he said:
"I believe they had a signal blocker. This blocked the ring doorbell footage of the actual attempt."

“I would just like to say a big thank you. Your Litelok X1 Plus saved my motorcycle from being stolen last night."
The would be bike thieves attempted to steal James's motorcycle by using angle grinders. The LITELOK X1 Plus is armoured with Barronium®, our patented composite material that resists angle grinder attacks by turning the grinder’s energy in on itself, the X1 PLUS offers five times more resistance than the best-selling D-locks, without adding extra weight.
"It was on a brand new Yamaha R7 2026, I haven't even had the bike two weeks before this happened last night. I live in London and reported it to the police straight away."
James made the smart choice by investing in the LITELOK X1 Plus, a Sold Secure Diamond-rated lock designed to resist angle grinder attacks.
When thieves attempted to steal his bike, the LITELOK X1 Plus stood up to the attack and prevented the theft. James also helped deter the thieves by shouting at them, causing them to give up.

As the images show, the thieves’ attempted cut was unsuccessful. To get through the LITELOK X1 Plus, they would have needed to make two full, successful cuts through the lock, giving James’s motorcycle the protection it needed.
"I deterred the four individuals attempting to steal the bike by shouting at them. They took about 2 minutes of trying before giving up."
The failed attempt gave James the chance to intervene before the thieves could do any further damage. With the LITELOK X1 Plus holding firm, his intervention was enough to send the would-be thieves away empty-handed.
"Thanks again, if it wasn't for your lock my bike would have been stolen."
