For Simon, cycling is more than just a means of transportation—it’s part of his daily life. On the evening of February 5th, he secured his bike, valued at £750, to a steel Sheffield bike stand at Paddington Station’s bike pen on platform 8. The station is under constant surveillance with 24/7 CCTV, providing an added layer of protection—or so Simon thought.
The bike remained in the station for a week. Between February 5th and February 12th, would-be thieves targeted Simon’s bike. However, despite their efforts, the LITELOK X1 kept the bike safe.
The bike was "locked to installed steel Sheffield bike stands,” Simon explained, emphasising the importance of using quality infrastructure along with a reliable lock.
By morning on February 12th, Simon returned to his bike —thanks to the robust protection provided by the LITELOK X1.
"It appears the thief attempted to cut the lock near the apex of the hoop using an angle grinder"
This incident demonstrates the power of a strong deterrent. With its high-security features, the LITELOK X1 stood up to the challenge and ensured Simon’s bike stayed right where he left it.
"I'm personally delighted with the lock's ability to withstand an angle-grinder attack - unlike my £80 Abus D lock on my previous bike that was stolen from exactly the same place 6 weeks ago."
Simon’s story serves as a reminder that choosing a high-quality lock can make all the difference when it comes to protecting your valuable ride. Whether you’re commuting, touring, or simply running errands, peace of mind is priceless—and the LITELOK X1 delivered exactly that for Simon.
